The Buchan field is located in the Central North Sea, 115 km northeast of the Aberdeenshire coastline. The proposed project involves installation of new subsea production gathering infrastructure tied back to a redeployed Floating Storage Offloading (FPSO) vessel; the Western Isles FPSO. Oil will be offloaded from the Western Isles FPSO via shuttle tanker and excess gas will be exported via a new gas export pipeline.
